"THE ORIGINAL PARK SLOPER" STORY

My cousin is a singer/songwriter living in Brooklyn, NYC (www.johndelore.com). Tired of his fountains of brilliance scribbled on stacks of crumpled, bleedy and easy-to-lose diner napkins, he commissioned the first Park Sloper. He also named it figuring it would be popular with the artistic crowd in his Brooklyn neighborhood. He still carries the very first model I made for him in 2012.

I'm quite proud of this design. I had been wanting to combine a small wallet with a tiny notebook for some time, so when my cousin called me and requested just that I immediately got to work. The Park Sloper Junior is a compact and simple wallet, tiny notepad and high quality pen.

Now I offer its big brother, the Park Sloper Senior, that fits a full size pen as well as Field Notes, Moleskine®, Doane Paper and other 3.5"x5.5" softcover notebooks. See below for more details.

SIZE COMPARISON

See a video, click here.

I make three sizes of this wallet. The Park Sloper Junior is very small. It is comfortable in a front pocket. The Medium (new!) has one more card slot on the left, a slightly larger notebook and size for a larger pen. Still comfortable in a front or back pocket. The Park Sloper Senior is sized for a 3.5" x 5.5" notebook and will ride comfortably in a back jeans pocket, coat pocket, bag or purse. Here are some size comparison photos. See below for more details.

THE PARK SLOPER JUNIOR (PSJ) - $105

"This wallet is a work of art." - Brad, Seattle

Two card slots on the left fit 1-3 cards each (more when broken in), behind is a large pocket. The large pocket is open at the top which makes for easy access to your folded bills as well as business cards or whathaveyous. The space behind the notebook can also be used as an additional pocket (it works great for transit passes that you can scan through the leather).

The open window in the pen sleeve is to facilitate removing the pen. I kept the stitching off the spine where it receives the most wear and I've sized the dimensions exactly so your folded bills won't be crinkled when the wallet is closed. It includes both a notebook (2.5"x4") and a Fisher Space Pen Stowaway (smallest high quality pen available).

A lot of time and effort has lead me to this design, and I stand by its quality and utility.

Dimensions: 11.5cm x 8.5 cm closed, 16.5cm x 11.5 cm open

The slimmest configuration is with available slim leathers: Hermann Oak natural veg or bridle leather, Horween horsehide. I keep as many of these in stock as I can. I can also make this with thicker Horween leather exteriors in Chromexcel, Dublin and Shell Cordovan. You can always contact me if you have a special leather or color in mind.

THE PARK SLOPER MEDIUM (PSM) - $115

See a video, click here.

Three card slots on the left fit 1-3 cards each (more when broken in), behind is a large pocket.

I kept the stitching off the spine where it receives the most wear and I sized the dimensions exactly so your folded bills won't be crinkled when the wallet is closed. It includes an A7 sized notebook (12cm x 7.5cm) and fits many pens.

A lot of time and effort has lead me to this design, and I stand by its quality and utility.

Dimensions: 13.5cm x 9.5 cm closed, 19cm x 9.5 cm open.

PARK SLOPER PASSPORT (PSP) - $90

A simple and elegant holder for your passport, cards and cash. The two card pockets can hold 2-6 cards each, the large pocket behind is partially open for easy access to bills, etc. The passport will fit completely behind the right flap, or you can just tuck the back cover behind, leaving it open and accessible.

This also works well as a Notebook Wallet with a passport sized notebook (3.5"x5"). For +$3, I will include a high-quality, fountain pen friendly passport sized notebook.

Dimensions. 14.25cm x 10cm closed, 14.25cm x 20cm open

THE PARK SLOPER SENIOR (PSS) - $115

The big brother to The Original Park Sloper (Junior), this model fits a larger notebook a full sized pen, yet it still carries comfortably in a back pocket. When carried in a back jeans pocket, as long as the pen is along the outside edge, there is very little risk of pen damage and it is quite comfortable.

For notebooks, most slim 3.5x5.5" notebooks are compatible: the Moleskine® 80-page Volant or 64-page Cahier, the venerated 48-page Field Notes memo books as well as Doane Paper's 48-page Utility Notebook, WordNotebooks, PaperStax, Clairefontaine, and Forest Choice notebooks (my top choice, for its fountain pen friendly paper and eco-friendly practices). Each Sloper Senior ships with a Field Notes notebook pre-loaded.

The pen sleeve is designed to swallow the entire pen, including clip, so there is nothing to catch on pockets and such. I've seen some people leave the clip on the outside of the sleeve, but this is not how it is intended to be used. The pen sleeve fits pens up to about 11mm in diameter, and works great with the Bolt and Retrakt pens from Karas Kustoms. Pen NOT included.

Dimensions. 15.5cm x 11.5cm closed, 15.5cm x 22cm open

"If you’re considering this wallet because you regularly carry a pen and a notebook, look no further. You won’t find higher-quality or better craftsmanship anywhere else. You’re done. This is it. And the wallet only looks better and better with age and wear. I carry mine in my blazer/jacket/suit pocket or in the back pocket of my jeans on the weekends. Perfect with a Field Notes notebook and Fisher Space Shuttle or Caran d’Ache pen. I keep a bank card, my ID, insurance card, and my gym card in it as well. The left pocket is well-suited to carry 8-15 bills in my experience (dollars and euros both fit fine). " - Dennis, Cleveland

THE NO PEN OPTION

All the Park Slopers are available without a pen sleeve.

Same as the Park Sloper senior, except with no pen sleeve. This makes for a more compact package that is very comfortable for back pocket carry.

Dimensions. 15.5cm x 10cm closed, 15.5cm x 20cm open

ADDITIONAL BACK POCKETS, +$25

Not quite enough carry capacity? No problem!

By custom order you can add a second set of pockets that tuck behind the notebook, seen here on the one I carry. Available for the Senior, No Pen and Passport. Not available on the Junior or Medium.
